Transport in Bali

Infoguide about transport in Bali

Its inexpensive to driving with taxi in Bali, you can get an 2 hour drive from Kuta to Ubud for under 30 US$.

Which taxi-company should ill go with?

Bluebird Group is the taxi company ill go with if i can choose, its the biggest taxi-company in Indonesia and the meter is sealed. If you just go for a five minutes drive you can chose whatever, but a long-ride can be expensive with other taxi-companies.

Rent a bike or car in Bali?

You need to have an international driving license, and you can get it in Bali i have heard about, but the easiest and maybe cheapest way is to get it from your home-country. When i was the first time in Bali 2001 i rented a car, but the question is if its worth it? If something happens are you always guilty as a tourist and the police is corrupt, and you will guaranteed going to get stopped and make a small donation to a police, even if you haven't done anything wrong.

Rent a car with a driver?

Ill think this is a very good choice but i don't know if its legal or not and you will not get any receipt. We rented a really nice driver with a Toyota SUV and paid 350.000 Rp/day, it was a very good price and the normal price is 450.000 Rp.

You pay the gasoline and it doesn't cost much in Bali and we was driving for four days in one tank. You have to pay the food for the driver and we also paid him for staying at hotels, but he choose very inexpensive hotels for him and the hotels cost was around 40-60 000 Rp for each night. So the total cost for everything was around 400.000-450.000 Rp/day, and remember to be nice and gentle to your driver its worth it.
